CREATIVE PROCESS:
1. look around
Look up! Inspiration for an idea can come from anywhere. That’s why it’s important for me to observe the world around me at any chance I can get. My favorite way to get creative is going for a long walk, no matter where I may be.
2. brainstorm
Brainstorming is a crucial step to anyones creative process, and it looks a little different for every person. For me, I like to step outside of myself and think of different ways this idea can affect “me”. I also love doing this step with friends… collaboration is key!
3. conceptualize
This is where my “big idea” comes to life. I ask myself, how can I make this idea live in the real world and how can I be a creative problem solver. This is a core step that will make my project be clear and have a purpose.
4. pen to paper
Research, sketch, mind map, repeat. Writing and drawing is super important for my creative process as it allows me to find those diamond in the ruff ideas. Research helps me figure out my audience, competitors, and helps me understand my project better.
5. fall down
This is possibly the most crucial and important step for my creative process. One of my most favorite quotes is “it’s not how far you fall, but how high you bounce back that counts”.
6. get back up
Falling down allows me to get back up, with even stronger and better ideas. Being pushed to your highest potential is how every project should end, feeling confident that you left no gas in the tank.
7. finish proud
At the end of the madness, I always need to take a step back and admire what I have done. Taking a moment for gratitude is important to fuel myself for my next creative endeavor.
